Privacy Policy
Cygnet Gems is a private dealership. We hold as little information as possible, and only what is needed to answer you.
What we collect
Only what you type into our enquiry form: your name, your email address, your telephone number if you choose to give it, the stone you are interested in, any offer amount you choose to submit, and your message.
We also store an irreversible one-way hash of your IP address for up to an hour, purely to stop automated abuse of the form. It cannot be turned back into an IP address.
Why we hold it
To reply to your enquiry, arrange a viewing, and continue that correspondence. Nothing else. This is our legitimate interest in responding to someone who has contacted us.
No marketing
We do not send newsletters, campaigns or promotional email. We do not sell, rent or share your details with third parties, and we never use your enquiry to add you to any list.
Retention
Enquiries are kept for as long as the conversation is live and for up to 24 months afterwards, so we can recognise a returning client. After that they are deleted. You may ask us to delete yours sooner at any time.
Cookies and analytics
This site sets no analytics or advertising cookies, and runs no third-party tracking. The only browser storage used is the secure session needed for our own private administration area.
Where it is held
Enquiries are stored in an access-controlled database, readable only by Cygnet Gems. Notification email is sent to us directly and is not shared onward.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to erase it. Write to rburzotta@gmail.com and we will respond within one month.
If you are in the UK and unhappy with our response, you may complain to the Information Commissioner's Office.
